IV is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent that works by disrupting the nervous system of parasites. It binds to specific chloride ion channels—particularly those gated by glutamate and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)—in the nerve and muscle cells of invertebrates. This leads to an influx of chloride ions, resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite. Importantly, these channels are either absent or function differently in humans, which is why the drug has a wide margin of safety when used correctly. Beyond its antiparasitic use, emerging research has explored its potential anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and immunomodulatory effects, including the ability to inhibit certain cellular transport mechanisms, which may reduce viral replication in vitro. 

This simple protocol has been a cornerstone of my recovery — especially post-surgery, during high-stress periods, and when my body signals that something deeper is at play.
