From Surgery to Comeback - Total Hip Replacement

From Surgery to Comeback - Total Hip Replacement

My Comeback: A Story of Faith, Discipline, and Never Giving Up

By Amanda Allen

Seven years ago, I walked away from competitive CrossFit—burnt out, broken, in an abusive relationship, suffering mentally, in deep physical and emotional pain. I never thought I’d return to the sport that had once defined so much of who I was. But, two years ago, I underwent a total hip replacement. It was one of the most challenging chapters of my life.

But here I am—back.
Back on the floor. Back in the arena. Back where I belong.

And I want you to know: miracles do happen.

The Road Was Never Straightforward

For 3 years, I battled with chronic pain and the heartbreak of stepping away from competition. The mental toll was enormous. The physical limitations were relentless. My hip deteriorated to the point where the only option left was a complete replacement in March 2023.

I won’t romanticise it—it was brutal. Recovery was slow, uncomfortable, uncertain. There were moments of deep doubt, moments I wondered if I'd ever train again, let alone compete.

But I held onto one truth:
You’re never too old, and it’s never too late—if you never give up.

Discipline. Faith. Persistence. Dedication.

I got here—not through luck—but through unwavering discipline. Through faith in my body’s ability to heal. Through persistence that didn’t allow me to back down. Through dedication to my recovery protocols and belief in the long game.

Every single day since surgery, I’ve moved forward, inch by inch. I returned to basics, listened to my body, nourished it, respected it. I rebuilt myself from the inside out.

My Foundational Recovery Protocols

I’ve lived and breathed every element of the Ageless Athlete Program—a system I created from decades of experience and hard lessons. It supported me every step of the way in building strength, mobility, resilience, and confidence in my body again.

I leaned on my 9 Day Detox, a liquid nourishment protocol that allowed my body to reset, heal and reduce inflammation from the inside out.

And of course, my Foundations of Health (my Green Goodness & Zeo Body Detox) —my daily, non-negotiable foundational superfood supplements—kept me energised, detoxified, mentally clear, and alkalised through the tough days and training sessions.

These aren’t just products. They’re the reason I’ve been able to rise again.

You Can Rise, Too

This comeback isn’t about winning medals. It’s about reclaiming my power. It’s about proving to myself—and anyone watching—that age is just a number, setbacks are opportunities and surgery isn’t the end of your story.

So if you’re sitting in a hard place right now, wondering if your best days are behind you—I’m here to tell you they’re not.

The fire doesn’t fade unless you let it.

The Message Is Simple:

  • You are not alone.
  • You are not broken.
  • You are not too old.
  • It is never too late.
  • If You never give up.

If you want something deeply enough, and you refuse to quit—miracles will happen.

With strength and relentless spirit,
Amanda x
